Dr. Savage Begins Term as Board Chair for Lutheran Services in America

July 23, 2008 (Baltimore, MD) – Dr. Patricia Savage, President and CEO of Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries, began her term July 1 as Chair of the Board of Directors of Lutheran Services in America (LSA). LSA is an alliance of two Lutheran denominations and their nearly 300 Lutheran health and human service organizations across the United States and Caribbean that provide services to more than six million people each year – one out of every 50 people.

Dr. Savage joined the LSA Board in 2004. The LSA Board of 18 members is made up of executives of member social ministry organizations and representatives of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod.

As President and CEO of Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, Dr. Savage leads a multi-service organization with a staff of more than 500 that provides heath and human services in an eight county area of western Pennsylvania. She holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Philanthropy from Union Institute and University, Cincinnati, a Master’s degree in Social Work from Marywood University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources management with a concentration in Health Care Administration from the University of Scranton. She is treasurer of the Board of Kairos Health Systems, a member of the Board of the Pennsylvania Not-for-Profit Homes for the Aging and President-elect of the Altoona Rotary Club.
