OASIS was the initial name of LSA's consulting services and early on it mobilized peers to consult with LSA members experiencing financial, leadership or operational difficulties. Through the years, the mix of consultations has expanded. Today, LSA's consulting services not only assist organizations through difficult times, but most The LSA Communicators Network has piloted the use of an online community. Members are communications, public relations and marketing, fundraising and community outreach professionals for organizations in the LSA alliance. The Communicators Yahoo group continues to grow, now counting well over 50 members. The group poses questions to one another and has engaged in robust discussions, especially around issues of brand identity. LSA's Director of Communications has made use of the discussion group to post reporters' requests for help finding stories about financial counseling, cultural adaptation to the U.S. and spikes in requests for services.
